What is homeopathy?

Homeopathy

Homeopathy for Babies and Children

It is a method that provides natural, side-effect-free, holistic and permanent treatment. It is formed by combining the words homeopathy (similar) and pathos, meaning disease. In homeopathy, when a substance is given to a healthy person, it causes symptoms similar to the disease in that person, and sick people who have actually caught that disease can be treated with this active substance.

In short, treating like with like constitutes the basic principle of homeopathy.

All organisms have the ability to respond to stimuli by reproducing, growing, and developing, and to maintain homeostasis as a whole.

The current definition of health by the WHO is a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and is not limited to the absence of disease or infirmity.

  • Symptoms are the path to recovery.
  • In homeopathy, regular follow-up is important depending on the course of the disease.
  • It has no toxicity or side effects. It is a general treatment for all symptoms and diseases.
  • It attempts to treat the underlying disease and the symptoms improve as a result.
  • Homeopathy is a medicine of knowledge. It enables the correct reconstruction of knowledge.
  • Similar symptoms are treated with similar medications.
  • One remedy may be given at a time. Your homeopath will prescribe it according to your clinical condition and symptoms.
  • In homeopathy, symptoms are specific to the patient, not the disease.
  • In homeopathy, the first consultation takes a long time. The person tells his/her own life to the doctor from birth.
  • It may not always be possible for people to convey their own lives impartially in the first session, but over time, the dialogue between them and homoeopathy continues with all its simplicity. This allows homoeopathy to know the person well, if necessary, to open some of the layers of the person and accelerate healing.

Why should we choose homeopathy?

  • Natural
  • Trustworthy
  • It is effective and has no side effects.
  • Provides permanent results

How does it work?

It is the process of providing relief by giving a very low dose of a substance that causes symptoms of a disease when given in high doses to a healthy person, to a patient showing similar symptoms.

It is a natural, side-effect-free and holistic healing method when used in accordance with its principles.

Why is it important for children to start and continue their lives with Homeopathy?

The mother's months of excited waiting will be the beginning of that incredibly protective and sensitive period they feel when they hold their babies in their arms. Therefore, supporting the strengthening of the babies' immunity is one of the feelings that all mothers who hold their babies in their arms want the most. The immune system of newborn babies actually begins to develop in the womb. It is integral to how accurately the mother programs what needs to be done before pregnancy for a healthy baby to be born. During pregnancy, the baby is under the protection of the mother for a while since the antibodies that fight diseases in the mother's immune system reach the baby through the placental route. These antibodies protect the baby from routine diseases in the first few months of life. During this period, since we know that supporting the babies' immune system with homeopathy strengthens their own defenses and their life energy is high, it can be a very effective treatment.

Use of Homeopathy in Autism?

Autism; Homeopathy is an effective and safe supportive treatment method used by analyzing the person's symptoms in autism spectrum disorder. We have studies in this field with children in many different age groups in our clinic. It provides support to the person's daily life in correcting unwanted symptoms. We receive pleasing feedback with a multidisciplinary approach.

When it comes to allergies, which we encounter very frequently in children today and which I follow in many of my patients in my clinic, children can have the chance to regain their health in a very short time with the help of natural remedies with homeopathy.

Just as very small pollens trigger allergy complaints and make them worse in a short time, allergies can also be cured with very small doses with homeopathy treatment.

Cough in children: Cough in children is always one of the symptoms that worries families the most. There are so many reasons for coughing that phlegm, persistent postnasal drip, foreign objects coming through the airway, reflux are just a few of them.

When the cough starts, its frequency, especially in different age groups, other symptoms accompanying the cough, fever, shortness of breath, night sweats, nasal congestion, we observe all these findings. Recurrent nasal congestion that lasts for 2-3 weeks, accompanied by watery eyes, sneezing, nasal congestion, and occasionally itching, such clinical findings may also increase the possibility of allergy.

Cough in newborns is the group that requires the most attention, and babies, especially those under 6 months of age, should always see their doctor when symptoms begin.

If your baby or child is in a good mood when the cough starts, does not have a fever and is breathing comfortably, it can be monitored at home during this period. In babies, it will be sufficient to first check whether their nose is open and, if necessary, to use the nose opening recommendations that your doctor will recommend to you for each age group. It is especially important for breastfeeding mothers to keep their babies' noses open during breastfeeding. The first parameters they will check are the air dryness, temperature and fresh air circulation in the environment they are in.

Croup, which we encounter very often, especially in children between the ages of 6 months and 3 years, is an upper respiratory tract obstruction due to infection. It is a clinic that worries families as children often experience coughing and sometimes difficulty breathing, with swelling of the trachea. We encounter it frequently in our clinic during the winter, autumn and spring months. Croup, which is not always accompanied by fever, can usually catch children lying down at home in the middle of the night.

Bronchiolitis is an inflammatory disease that causes blockage in the small airways of the lungs, causing coughing and respiratory distress, especially in the winter months. There may be an underlying flu infection in the family. RSV, or respiratory syncytial virus, in newborn babies. Especially in newborns, since the diameter of their bronchi is narrow and the cartilage rings surrounding the bronchi are very soft, they block more easily and their complaints can start suddenly. The fever may be normal or slightly elevated. What families should pay attention to is whether the baby is restless, has difficulty sucking, and the rib spaces may collapse inward with each breath. Sleep is especially irregular. Families should definitely see their physicians when these and similar symptoms occur.

MIDDLE EAR INFECTIONS: It is one of the most common infections in children. It is more likely to be seen in babies between 6 months and 2 years of age. It also decreases after the age of 5. In fact, it is very important to start the complaint and manage the pain caused by the inflammation in middle ear infections. These infections can usually be caused by flu, cold and sometimes an allergen. Children between 6 months and 2 years of age can be more sensitive to middle ear infections due to the size and shape of their eustachian tubes and because their immune systems are still developing.

In babies, especially those who have just started to crawl and walk, temporary or permanent hearing loss may occur due to ear infections that have not been fully treated. This may cause delays in social and developmental skills in babies. They must be examined in detail and followed up regularly by specialist physicians.

Children are particularly at risk if their parents smoke in their homes. In babies, scratching the same ear, restlessness, constant and unreasonable crying, and having trouble sleeping can be signs of an ear infection. When fluid accumulation in the middle ear is seen in a detailed examination by the physician they are following at an early stage, it can be corrected with treatment directed at the cause. In babies who are not fully treated, negative pressure on the eardrum can cause the eardrum to collapse and sometimes cause temporary or permanent hearing loss.

URINARY TRACT INFECTIONS IN CHILDREN: Urinary tract infections are a common and important disease in childhood. Urinary tract infections are the most common genitourinary disease and the second most common infection. Especially recurring and underlying anatomical disorders such as vesicourethral reflux and obstruction can lead to serious complications. Except for the first three months of life, girls have more urinary tract infections than boys. After the age of 1, girls have a risk of developing UTIs approximately 15 times more than boys. The most common cause of UTIs in children is gram-negative enteric bacteria. Escherichia coli is the most common % 80 agent, and bacteria such as Klebsiella and Proteus are common. Clinical findings of urinary tract infections may vary depending on age, localization of the infection in the urinary system, and its severity. Findings in newborns can sometimes be nonspecific. Vomiting, inadequate weight gain, difficulty sucking, restlessness, prolonged jaundice, foul-smelling urine, diarrhea-like findings may be observed. After the age of 2, patients may have complaints such as abdominal pain, fever, dysuria, suprapubic tenderness, and frequent urination in school-aged children.

Childhood Rash Diseases: In children, febrile rash diseases are common and important. In most of them, the causative agents are viruses. And they are self-limiting diseases. Rash in children is caused by some infectious agents, toxins, allergic causes and changes in the skin resulting from bleeding disorders. Bacterial systemic diseases, which are less common, are life-threatening. The most risky diseases are meningococcemia and bacterial sepsis cases. The most important criterion in febrile rash disease is clinical examination.

First of all, the onset, distribution, morphology, progression, and relationship with itching and fever are important in childhood rashes. The most common rashes in viral rash diseases are macular or maculopapular rashes.

Let's take a brief look at these rash diseases. Let's take a look at the name of the disease, its etiology, epidemiology, the character of the rash, definitive diagnostic tests and what is done in the treatment.

MEASLES: Its etiology is the measles virus. In those who are not immune, it is a maculopapular rash that starts on the head and spreads down to the trunk and extremities, tending to coalesce, without itching, in the first 9 years.

There are prodromal findings. Coryza conjunctivitis cough Koplik spots maculopapular rashes starting on the 4th-5th day. Definitive diagnosis is made with serology and IgM and IgG antibodies developed against the measles virus. There is no antiviral drug. Vitamin A supplement is given to those with malnutrition and under the age of 2.

RUBELLA: It is seen in adolescents who are not immune to rubella virus. It is small in size, pale with maculopapular pressure and disappears in 3 days. Prodromal symptoms are not as pronounced as measles, petechiae, conjunctivitis, malaise and arthritis are seen in the soft palate. IgM and IgG antibodies developed against rubella virus. There is no antiviral drug. You should consult your doctor for antipyretics.

ERYTHEMA INFECTIOSUM (5TH DISEASE): Parvovirus B-19 is seen in school-age children. A rash that looks like a slapped hand mark occurs on the face, reticular maculopapular rashes occur on the trunk and extremities. It may accompany arthritis, it can also affect large joints, it is a rheumatogenic virus, it can cause a glove-sock type rash, the rash increases with heat, it is confused with urticaria. The rash can last for 10-14 days. IgM and IgG antibodies developed against parvovirus B-19 are investigated by PCR method for the virus. There is no treatment. It is treated symptomatically.

ROSEOLA INFANTUM (6. DISEASE): Etiology is HHV-6. It is seen in infants between 6 months and 3 years of age. Widespread maculopapular rash that starts on the face, especially on the trunk, and fades with pressure. Rash usually appears after fever subsides and disappears in 1-2 days. Diagnosis is based on clinical findings, rarely viral serologic tests are required. Treatment is symptomatic. Antipyretics are used.

MENINGOCOCCEMIA: The etiology is N.meningitidis. It is more common in our country under the age of 5. Petechial purpuric rashes are seen on the trunk or extremities. It starts suddenly and progresses rapidly, fever is high.

Shock is accompanied by disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC), severe leukocytosis, high CRP, neutrophilia, meningitis findings in cases. Clinical findings and isolation of bacteria from hemoculture, PCR methods are used. High-dose IV antibiotic fluid support is the earliest stage.

RED:  Etiology S.pyogenes (Group A B-hemolytic streptococcus). It is seen in children especially under 5 years of age. Dot-sized widespread maculopapular rashes, fade with pressure, mouth area is pale, chicken skin appearance is present. Tonsillitis or skin infection is present. Pastia lines may be seen, strawberry tongue finding is present. Peeling is observed on the finger skin after the rash.

Rapid streptococcal tests, throat cultures, or cultures of material taken from infected skin may be performed.

Penicillin and amoxicillin can be used in treatment. If your doctor deems it necessary, he/she will also prescribe other groups of antibiotics.

VARICELLA: Etiology is Varicella Zoster virus. It is seen in non-immune individuals under the age of 10. It starts as short-term maculopapular, then vesicles filled with clear fluid with erythema around them appear, it occurs on the face, scalp and trunk, it is itchy, and shows polymorphism. There are prodromal period findings, rashes may be on the mucosa and conjunctiva.

Side effects are rare because homeopathic remedies are usually used in low doses. However, like any treatment, homeopathy can cause unwanted reactions in some people.

Homeopathy is particularly suitable for chronic conditions and mild symptoms. It may not be suitable for acute or life-threatening conditions, where conventional medical treatment is necessary.

Homeopathy is generally considered safe during pregnancy and childhood, but as with any treatment, a doctor or healthcare professional should be consulted in specific cases.

The duration of treatment may vary depending on the person's health status, severity of disease, and individual response. In some cases, rapid improvement is seen, while chronic conditions may require longer treatment.
